Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you use Shortlist Studio's services. By placing an order, you agree to them. We've written them in plain language, but if anything is unclear, just ask us.

1. Our services

We write and improve CVs, cover letters and LinkedIn profiles, tailor CVs to job ads, and build one-page portfolio sites. Our current services and prices are listed on our website.

2. Prices and payment

  • All prices are in South African Rand.
  • The free CV check costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.
  • For paid orders, we send you a secure payment link. Work starts once your payment is received.

3. Delivery

  • We deliver within 12 hours. The clock starts once we have your CV (or your work history), the job ad and your payment.
  • If we're waiting for your answers to our questions, the clock pauses until you reply.
  • If we deliver late, we refund R50 of your order.
  • The 3-hour priority rush costs R249 on top of your order and depends on availability. We confirm your rush slot before you pay. If we miss the 3-hour window, we refund the rush fee.
  • We deliver your documents as a PDF and a Word file in the same WhatsApp chat.

4. Revisions

Every order includes one free revision, if you ask for it within 48 hours of delivery. A revision covers changes to the order you placed. A CV for a different job is a new job-ad tailoring order.

5. Your responsibilities

  • The information you give us must be true and accurate.
  • Check your documents before you use them. You're responsible for what you send to employers.

6. Honesty

We never add experience, qualifications or dates you don't have. We may decline or cancel an order that asks us to include false information, and we'll refund any payment for work not yet done.

7. No job guarantee

We can't promise you a job, an interview or a callback, because employers make those decisions. What we promise is a clear, accurate CV, matched to the job ad and delivered on time.

8. Refunds and cancellations

  • If you cancel before we start working on your order, we refund you in full.
  • If you're unhappy with the result, tell us and we'll fix it with your free revision.
  • If we can't deliver your order, we refund you in full.

These terms don't affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

9. Your documents

Once you've paid, the documents we create are yours to use however you like. We never use your CV or your details in our marketing.

10. Portfolio sites

Your portfolio site is set up in your name and handed over to you. If it needs a domain name or hosting, we tell you those costs before you pay, and those accounts belong to you.

11. Our liability

As far as the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.

12. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
